MG5 SW HIRE
Most manufacturers, when they enter the EV market, build either small city cars, large SUVs or high-performance sports touring vehicles. Not so MG. When MG, the Chinese manufacturer that acquired the rights to the name from the now-defunct Rover Group, looked at the EV market, they saw a place for a practical, family estate car that combined excellent load space and room for passengers with good range and a build quality that would attract interest from both private and commercial buyers.
And so the MG5 was born. Equipped with a 61.1kWh battery, the MG5 has a range of 270 miles when driven carefully. When combined with an estate-car sized boot and equipment that makes the MG5 a comfortable and practical EV, the MG5 is the perfect vehicle whether you are using it for daily business use or weekend trips with passengers.
For the first-time EV driver, the MG5 SW is easy to operate. The central control is either turned right for drive or left for reverse, one of three driving modes selected and you’re ready to move off. Three levels of regeneration (the ability to harvest energy when the vehicle is slowing) means that you can drive while rarely touching the brake pedal – saving brake pad wear and brake dust emissions, making your contribution to zero-emissions even more effective.
But all this practicality doesn’t mean you need to sacrifice style and beautiful design. The MG5 is equipped with alloy wheels, a six-speaker 3D audio system incorporating DAB radio, front, side and curtain airbags and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
If you’re looking to sample EV driving for the first time, you couldn’t find a better vehicle with which to start. The MG5 will tick all the boxes for you and demonstrate just how practical the future of zero-emission cars will be.
