Wes Pearce, brother of EV Hire Managing Director Daryl Pearce, got his Ginetta GT4 SuperCup Championship G56 Amateur campaign off to a flying start at Brands Hatch on Sunday May 15 with a class win in the last of three races at the opening round of the 2022 season.
Pearce, who began his racing career on motorcycles, started racing cars four years ago in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge. After two seasons in GT5 machinery, the Surrey-based driver moved up to the Ginetta GT Academy where Pearce scored two wins and eight podiums on his way to finishing third in the standings, at the wheel of a 270bhp Ginetta G56 GTA.
For 2022, Pearce has graduated again with a move to the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup, a championship which competes at the same race weekends as the British Touring Car Championship and enjoys full TV coverage. Ginetta GT4 SuperCup entries are powered by a Ginetta 6.2ltr V8 engine, supplying 500bhp with a top speed of 165 mph.
On a weekend where track conditions changed from glorious sunshine to thick cloud with light rain, Wes Pearce finished third in class in Race One, fourth in Race Two and finished the weekend off with a class victory in Race Three.
Results from the opening weekend for the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup Championship mean that Pearce now lies third in the G56 Amateur standings on 83 points, just 14 points behind class leader Darren Leung.
Wes Pearce was delighted with the progress he made over the weekend.
“For the opening three races of the 2022 season, the variable weather conditions made car set-up a challenge for the Brands Hatch Indy circuit,” he said. “However, Breakell Racing worked extremely hard to provide a car in which I could compete at the front and I was very happy to finish on the top step of the class podium for Race Three.
“The season is a long one with the final round back at Brands Hatch on the GP circuit in October. However, given the progress we made this weekend, I am confident that we will be competing for more race wins as the year progresses.”
EV Hire Managing Director Daryl Pearce said:
“To see our company logo on the winning car in class at Brands Hatch was something very special. We look forward to supporting Wes in his hunt for the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup G56 Amateur title over the rest of the 2022 season.”
The Miller Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup grid next assembles at Oulton Park on June 11 – 12.

Excellent service. Very professional and reliable service. Rented G63 for my 50th birthday and it helped make it a very special birthday. Andy was very helpful.
Right where do I start! 5* is underestimate! Literally EV Hire puts every single car hiring companies to Shame! I rented a vehicle from EV Hire during bank holiday weekend. I was very last minute to the point where I put in the request at 9.45pm on a Friday night for next day 12pm delivery. Daryl accepted the booking, and I got the confirmation within half and hour to say the booking is…

Daryl and his team would deliver and collect the car from you for fee, they are quick to respond, punctual to arrive and have a great fleet of electric cars and high end 4x4s available. Last but no least, approval process for non-UK driving licenses is very smooth and…
