PORSCHE TAYCAN TURBO S VS AUDI RS6 DRAG RACE. PORSCHE TAKES CONVINCING WIN!

EV Hire was recently offered the opportunity to test the performance of its Porsche Taycan Turbo S against the Audi RS6 of social media star Archie Hamilton. An airfield runway was selected as the perfect backdrop for a drag race, putting the Taycan Turbo S in a head-to-head against the RS6.

The Audi RS6 is equipped with a 4.0-litre V8 engine, providing 591bhp and, combined with its Quattro permanent all-wheel-drive, can hit 60mph from a standing start in under four seconds. Not a slow car by any stretch of the imagination.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo S, however, has been described as ‘the most desirable electric car on the planet’ and, based on the drag race performance against the Audi RS6, we wouldn’t disagree.

With Sport Plus mode engaged, the Turbo S has 751bhp and over 1,000Nm of torque to play with, which gives it a huge advantage over the Audi.  A 0 – 60mph time of 2.4 seconds means that there is little that can compete with the Porsche from a standing start.

The results can be seen in Archie’s YouTube video that can be seen here. The EV Hire Porsche Taycan Turbo S comprehensively smoked the Audi RS6 from a standing start over two contests. The RS6 found a little more consistent pace from a rolling start but the outcome remained the same – the Taycan Turbo S was the first across the line.

Archie Hamilton commented that, despite a good launch from his Audi RS6, he could not compete with the pace of the Porsche Taycan Turbo S.
