OUR NEW G63 AMG GOES STEALTH MODE

If you follow us on social, yet haven’t heard about our latest collaboration between EV Hire and Pearce Protect, then I don’t know how you’ve missed the exciting transformation of our 2019 Mercedes Benz G63 AMG Hire. A natural collaboration, that some might say should have happened a long time ago. However, the time is now...and our SUV Rental G63 AMG is finally undergoing a bespoke Xpel Stealth full car PPF. 

What does that mean?! PPF stands for paint protection film, and covers parts, or all of your car to do exactly what you can imagine. Protects the paint. Xpel are a leading PPF manufacturer creating innovative protective solutions including a ‘self healing’ product. Pearce Protect are an approved Xpel application centre and the ‘Stealth’ element to this project, means the end product will provide a matte finish across the black paint work already on the EV Hire G63 AMG. All very exciting stuff! 

Seeing as Pearce Protect have had a wide variety of exotic cars roll through their unit over the last couple of months, the G63 AMG is certainly the largest car they’ve worked on. So to see the attention to detail, the tailored pre-cut pieces being applied meticulously to each panel was an impressive sight to see. Overseeing the project from start to finish was fascinating to follow. Each different stage powered the transformation forward. In a similar fashion to the way the twin turbo V8 propels the G63 AMG forward. 

What made this project unique was not only the car, but the bespoke design for the Mercedes G63 AMG. To begin with, we, EV Hire were one of the first customers to take delivery of our 2019 G63 AMG. That meant, Xpel used our car to create their own pre-cut PPF designs. What that means, is every 2019 G63 AMG which will be PPF’d using Xpel, will use our G Wagon as it’s template. And that’s worldwide too which we think is pretty cool. Not only will this Pre-Cut template be accurate to apply to our G63 AMG, Pearce Protect then took it to the next level, and created a tailor made ‘invisible’ template to wrap around the edges of the car. This is essential for Stealth PPF’s, as you don’t want any gloss showing underneath that satin finish. Pearce Protect went to the next level to plot additional measurements all over the car, enabling them to apply the PPF under curves, inside vents, over the bumpers and really cover any element of potential gloss. All super impressive and we’re absolutely blown away with the final product.
