When our Director, Daryl Pearce, first started EV Hire he wanted to ensure the companies’ approach was always innovate and “game changing”. This was first shown by our diverse range of exotic cars, coming in coupe, saloon and SUV shapes, front and mid-rear mounted engines and electric and combustion powertrains. Then came customer experience and service, which may be second here, but it is of upmost importance to us and certainly a priority, which is exactly why we have worked tirelessly to create one of the most smooth and simple online booking portals in the industry today.

In addition to always keeping our ears close to the ground so we can provide our customers with the best fleet possible, we have recently introduced a partnership with our new sister company, VOLTSO. VOLTSO has been created from Daryl’s passion for sustainable transportation and new technology, which is also where EV Hire came from and why our first cars were two of Tesla’s finest. VOLTSO is the latest supplier of high-performance electric scooters and uses the same customer focused approaches that have worked so well for EV Hire, to ensure a smooth and easy customer experience.

We’ll get into the specs of the scooter shortly, but the main question is: how has an exotic and performance car hire company partnered with an electric scooter company?

EV Hire and VOLTSO have teamed up to provide the ultimate personal transportation experience. Not only can you hire a very highly spec’d and well looked after car from our fleet, but you can now choose to hire a high-performance electric scooter with it.

We all know that driving in large cities can be testing, even to the most patient and skilled driver’s, but now you can worry less. If you hire one of our cars but need to drive into a large city you can choose to add a scooter to your hire. This means you can find parking in a less crowded and more easily navigable area of town and then ‘scoot’ to your destination. The result is no more standing around hailing taxis or tolerating the crowded underground or subway. You can easily take your fully charged scooter out from the boot of your EV Hire rental, unfold it in just a few seconds and then be on your way. However, you, family or friends can also use your scooter to have fun around your property and continue to use your car hire as intended. Lastly, we are all aware, to a lesser or greater extent, of the current global transition from fossil fuels to electric and sustainable power sources. VOLTSO currently offer 3 scooters to choose from: Ninebot Segway ES2, Xiaomi M365 and M365 Pro, but we have decided to use the well-rounded M365. Let’s get into the specs!

The M365 is Xiaomi’s entry level scooter, but don’t let that fool you. It’s lithium ion batteries offer up to 18.5 miles of range and a top speed of 15mph. As previously mentioned, the scooter will come fully charged, but if you enjoy it so much that you deplete the battery it can be fully charged in under 6 hours. You can also check the remaining charge and regenerate power on the go using the built in LED display and regenerative braking system. Believe it or not the M365 also comes with eABS and anti-lock braking systems that mean you can feel confident in the scooter’s ability to stop safely.

The M365 is made from a lightweight, but strong aluminium frame and comes with sturdy 8.5 inch wheels with rubber tyres, that, altogether, weighs just 12.5kg. Thanks to it’s smart folding system it can be manually folded in just 3 seconds!
