MASERATI PRESENTS ALL-ELECTRIC GRANTURISMO
Italian luxury vehicle manufacturer Maserati has re-launched the GranTurismo with an all-electric variant included in the line-up. The original GranTurismo was built between 2007 and 2019 and nearly 29,000 examples were produced, including a GT4 version for the race track.
Developed at the Maserati Innovation Lab and produced at the company’s manufacturing hub in Turin, the GranTurismo is designed to represent ‘Italian luxury performance.’
Alongside two ICE-powered vehicles; the Modena equipped with 490-hp 3.0-litre V6 twin turbo and a higher-performance Trofeo version providing 550 hp, Maserati will offer an all-electric ‘Folgore’ version with three 300-kW motors.
With a battery capacity of 92.4kWh, the GranTurismo EV will have 760 hp at its disposal. The ‘T Bone’-shaped battery pack avoids placing battery modules under the seats and will allow the car’s centre of gravity to be lower than its competitors.
Interior-wise, the GranTurismo will be equipped with the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) multimedia system which will provide the latest in infotainment, am integrated touchscreen interface and an optional Head-Up Display.
The manufacturer has yet to indicate pricing or availability.
