JAMES BAY HIRES TOUR VEHICLE THROUGH EV HIRE

Singer-songwriter James Bay recently toured throughout the UK as a solo artist to support smaller venues that have been hardest hit by the pandemic. The tour, entitled ‘New Songs, New Stories’ travelled the length and breadth of the country and was in support of Independent Music Week.
James was keen to promote zero emission travel for the tour and EV Hire was delighted to work with his tour manager, Jamal Chalabi, and Backlash Productions to provide the most suitable electric vehicle for the project which would involve almost 2,000 miles of driving.
EV Hire provided a Mercedes EQV to James and his tour manager and the feedback, after nearly two weeks on the road, was excellent. With a range of over 200 miles and the flexibility to seat up to seven, the Mercedes EQV was the perfect vehicle for the project and James was delighted that he could comfortably tour in an electric vehicle.
“I’m proud to say we travelled fully electric – all 1,986 miles of the tour in our trusty Mercedes EQV!” said James, commenting on social media. “Completely green touring still isn’t the easiest thing to achieve but this felt like a significant step in the right direction. Here’s to greener touring in the future!”
EV Hire Managing Director Daryl Pearce was delighted to hear the positive response to using a BEV for touring purposes.
“When James’ tour manager Jamal approached EV Hire about transportation for a national tour, we were confident that we could provide the perfect vehicle,” he said. “The Mercedes EQV offered James and his colleagues comfortable, quiet and, above all, emissions-free travel and, with proper planning, range was not an issue.
“We strongly believe that many artists will be looking for carbon-free travel when they are planning their next tours and EV Hire is ready to help source the right vehicle for them when they do.”
