Despite not being powered by combustion engines we at EV HIRE we love Tesla’s, so much so that two of our very first exotic cars were from the American manufacturer. We have spoken about this before, but these were a Model S and Model X, both in mega P100D with ludicrous spec. Regardless of the criticism Tesla have had from within the industry we’re glad to see our customers appreciating our model X as much as we do, in fact there is so much appreciation that we need to add a second car to our inventory to keep up with demand.
However, unlike most hire companies that just buy cars and don’t involve their loyal customers in the process, we have decided to take opinions from all of you to help us decide how we should spec our brand new 2019 Tesla Model X P100d for hire in London.
The Model X is now broken down into 3 output categories: standard, long range and performance. These were introduced with the Model 3 and most probably applied to the Model X for the sake of continuity, but what do these options offer? Standard offers an estimated range of 230 miles, limited top speed of 155mph and 0-62mph time of 4.6s. Unsurprisingly ‘long range’ offers an extended range to 315 miles, the same limited top speed of 155mph and a decreased 0-62mph time of 4.4s. Finally we come to Performance where we still find a decent amount of range at 300miles, same limited top speed of 155mph, but a significantly decreased 0-62mph time of 3.4s. However, if we decide to go for the ludicrous option, as we did with our original Model X, we gain access to a 0-62mph time of 2.7s. That’s Lamborghini Aventador territory. In this setup the Model X is powered by a 100kwh underfloor lithium ion battery pack with an electric motor on each axle facilitating the car’s 4WD. So, Ladies and gentlemen, it may be a silly question, but which output option should we go for, for our 2019 Tesla Model X P100d for hire in London?
Next we come to colour and wheel options. There are 5 colour options in total: solid black, midnight silver metallic, deep blue metallic, pearl-white multi coat and red multi-coat. The ‘multi-coat’ colours basically mean the paint is multi-layered which most probably offers a pearlescent finish. There are 3 wheel options in total, all of which have the same basic fan design: 20 inch silver fan wheels come as standard. These come with a two tone option, finished with a darkened outside rim. The final option are the large, gloss black 22inch fan style rims that we think look great, but what colour and wheel option do you think will look best?
With performance and exterior ticked off we only have another two categories to consider. The first is interior finish and seat layout. Just as with paint options there are 5 interior design options: black leather with figured ash wood inlays, white leather with dark ash wood inlays, cream leather with light oak wood inlays and then black or white leather with gloss carbon fibre inlays. Now moving to seat layout there are 3 options available, which is 3 more than most other manufacturers offer: 5 seats for a huge boot. 6 seats or 7 seats for optimised people carrying.
The final option we put to you is whether or not to have the greatly enhanced autopilot. At present it still exists as a very intelligent, self learning cruise control system thanks to it’s neural net integration, but it can now navigate onto and off motorways from slip-road to slip-road, change lanes and overtake other cars, park itself in parallel or perpendicular spaces and be summoned and safely drive itself to your location in a car park. Later this year Tesla are also equipping eligible models with the ability to recognise and respond to traffic lights and stop signs and full self driving in city streets (under your watchful eye of course). Remember, as one of our customer’s you will be able to explore all of the car’s features during your time with it so make sure you help us spec the best car possible. In addition to autopilot you can now play games on the cars Atari system to pass the time (while parked), such as: missile command, asteroids, lunar lander and centipede.
We can’t wait to hear your spec ideas for our evhire 2019 Tesla model X P100d for hire in London!
