EV STIG TALKS ASTON MARTIN DB11 HIRE
Welcome to our ‘internally’ voted ‘Most Beautiful Car of the Fleet’. The Aston Martin DB11, powered by a stunning 5.2 Litre V12 pushing out 600bhp. Aston Martin’s flagship GT car. Aston Martin just get it right with the visuals! Being the EV Stig, I’ve been lucky enough to drive our very own car, amongst a few other examples and no matter how many times you get to drive these magnificent beasts, it’s still a truly special occasion. If you’re looking to experience an Aston Martin, look no further, the new DB11 commands respect on the road, produces a stunning soundtrack and now thanks to a recent partnership with Mercedes AMG, they’ve got the full package! Whatever your occasion, we can promise the DB11 will live up to your expectations. Let’s get a bit more nerdy as to why the new DB11 is so special.
Driving an Aston Martin is more than just driving, it’s an honour. Built in Gaydon, Great Britain, Aston Martin have been at the forefront of luxury motoring since the 1960’s. We all know and love the connection to James Bond, and with it’s exterior beauty, it’s one of the only Marques that gets smiles, waves and acknowledgement from all ages. Aston Martin’s pre 2016 were ‘interesting’ shall we say. Whilst they always looked fantastic with a soundtrack to suit, it seemed they were always slightly behind on interior technology, engine reliability and driving pleasure. The brand relied on it’s connection to James Bond and some say, became slightly lazy on some of the more important elements of building a sports GT car.
Well, all that changed when Aston Martin realised their downfalls, and teamed up with arguably the best team for the job...Mercedes AMG. Providing German precision & expertise, alongside build quality and some of the best engines in productions cars at the moment, and welcome to the ‘new era’ of Aston Martin. The DB11 was the first car off the production line kicking this partnership off, and even though Aston Martin still created the 5.2 Litre V12, you can still see hints of Mercedes AMG when you sit inside. And this is no bad thing at all! The combination enhances the experience to now what is hands down, the smoothest, sportiest motorway cruiser you’ve ever driven. Not only that, take it into towns or quaint British villages and it navigates the roads effortlessly. There really is nothing like an Aston Martin, and I’m pleased to say that EV Hire have one on hand for whenever you feel the urge to experience a British V12!
Having said that, the V12 engine is a dying breed, with more and more manufacturers downsizing due to new regulations, weight gains and in some cases, power gains too, the DB11 is a very rare opportunity amongst not only the EV Hire fleet, but in general! Starting at £150,000 plus optional extras, here at EV Hire we can offer you an experience like no other for a fraction of that cost! And you won’t have to worry about maintenance. The Aston Martin DB11 is a versatile beast, capable of looking pretty, driving aggressively and squeezing 4 adults in if you’re fancying a weekend Roadtrip with friends! It’s honestly one of the greatest utility vehicles I’ve had the pleasure of driving and whilst it might not be as loud as a Lamborghini, or as flash as a Ferrari, it’s probably the car that I’d take out of the entire EV Fleet! It’s that good.
Aston Martin don’t do half measures when it comes to detail, the interior has a stunning digital display allowing the driving to scroll through endless information, whilst the passenger can enjoy the premium sounds of Bang and Olufsen and recline the seat and enjoy the ride! If you want to pretend to be James Bond for the day, or arrive to a wedding in style, then the DB11 ticks every box. You’ll be addicted as soon as you turn the engine on, just like I am! So I’m going to sign off from another EV Stig blog and head back to HQ and ask very very kindly if I can run the DB11 through it’s paces and use the same excuse I always use: ‘I’m just warming her up ready for the next lucky customer!’
